OMAR'S BIRTHDAY !!

It all started with a big breakfast. Just look at it! This was just for the two of us.

The next heartgoing thing was the big Good-bye. Our host was so friendly, it was just amazing.
The ninteen bikers from France had left quite early. That gave us plenty of space to take off. Omar had parked our bikes strategically for that purpose.

Here again tow pictures of our bikes, to honor the excellent engineering the BMW GS designers had come up with, in I think 30 years. 30 years BMW 1200 GS! The best bike in the world.

Omars bike. His secret love. Don't tell his wife 😁.

The night before I had a lot of work and fun updating this blog. Why I wore that cap, I don't know. I guess I just felt like it.

We had wonderful driving conditions throughout the day. The first stop we made was at a Vista Point where there was a great view of an oasis.

Of course, the place was populated by hawkers - and unfortunately also beggars.

This Berber, for example, was selling turban cloths. I would have liked to take one, but our suitcases are stuffed full, we can't even fit a shawl in.

He was a friendly guy, turning me into a Berber.

You can see the moment of transformation in Omar's video.

I look a bit cramped and tight-ass in the motorbike gear and the Berber cloth, but that was just a first attempt.

And as a biker, you are rarely alone, particularly not in the area. These bikes - mainly GS - belong to a Spanish group, with 2 guys form Portugal. Very nice people.

Here I am talking to one of the Spaniards. He asked me where I was from. When he heard that we are also based in Spain, he teased me with the criticism to please speak Spanish then. Quite a nice guy.

Next stop was the spectacular Gorge de Toudra. Reminded me of the Gran Canyon in the US. This is a stunning place, difficult to put into a photo.

Poser number one.

Poser number two.

Enough of the Gorge. Next stop is our final destination for today. You know what? Every day we say: "Wow, That's it! Unbeatable. The best place so far!"

Well, we topped it again. Or to be more precise, the final destination of today topped everything we saw so far.

Is this amazing or what?!

This is Dar Hassan, a fantastic place Omar found in Booking.com

Just look at the details. Everything is handmade, with lots of love for the craft and care for the wellbeing of the guest.

The pool as the centerpiece of this place is open to the top. So, wen you lay in your back in the pool, you can look into the blue sky, or the starry night.
This is looking towards the entrance. Just check out the tiles, all piece by piece hand-layed.
They have a dedicated tea room! Here you are welcomed as a first taste of being at home.
This is the tea room from the inside, right hand side. THere we sat, next to the fireplace.
The tea room, left hand side.
Check out the tiles! Beautiful, chosen with good taste.

Some impressions from our room. By the way, we payed 56€ for a room with two queen size beds, so, 28€ per person.

This is the washing basin, all hand-tiled again.
The shower room.
The bedroom. Jealous?
Then we were very politely invited for dinner. Just look how beautifully this table is layed.
Even the little tea light has a touch of heart.
Aahhh. This is so yummy. And it is only the entré. I was already full eating not even half of it.
Our friendly host. Man, this guy was good-looking, and he had perfect manners. Amazing.
Then came the main dish. And after that there was a Tiramisu dessert, that I couldn't eat anymore.
But the highlight was a birthday ceremony the hosts were giving Omar. With "Happy birthday to you ..." music and everything

Our host again. Man is he attractive!
Now check this out. They even created a birthday cake for Omar, with his name and his age on it! I don't know how they managed to get that so quickly.

OK, folks that is it for today. Watch this space, as tomorrow you will experience something very special together with us. Be invited to participate, if only in your dreams and best imaginations.
